Hi
I'm trying to merge different formats to produce one document containing floss usage, and list of symbols; I've copied the floss usage .csv onto a 'Word' generated table (out of Excel, removing the thread lengths that I didn't want to show), but can't find a way to import into the 'Word' Table a list of the symbols (and colour blocks).

I know I can print both the pattern and list of symbols to pdf (which I will use, espcially for large patterns,) but can't see how to just export the list of symbols, blocks and thread description without the pattern. I will be e-mailing two documents to the publisher; 1-Pattern, 2- Table showing the list of symbols, thread description, DMC numbers and floss lengths (I will be adding pattern notes to the table in the form of one large cell).

Can you help, please?

Not of which I am aware. When you export the floss information in csv format for Excel, the symbols don't follow.

That's something you can request for a future enhancement.

Thank you for that - if necessary the pattern information can just follow the pattern into the pdf converter on the same large document.

Is there ANY way to get the list of symbols into or onto another document format on their own??

I don't know how to "print" only the description parts without the pattern but there may still be a way. There are products that split pdfs into multiple files. I got the one I use from Giveawayoftheday.com and it normally isn't free but it works great. I use Simpo PDF Merge & Split. It retails for $19.95. If you're going to be doing a lot of this kind of work, it may be worth it. Or, there may be a free alternative. The one proviso with a free product is if you are using this for a "business" (even home business), it may not be legal. Check the license.
