How do I add other brands of threads and fibers that are not listed on the pallette list of available colors? Also, how can I change the symbols for the colors?

You can create your own lists using the floss editor. I haven't played with it but I know that is what is designed to be used in this case.

As for the symbols for the colors, simply click on the color and to the symbol palette. Choose any symbol and the symbol for that color is changed. If you don't see a symbol you like, check other fonts.
