I am trying to figure out whether or not to buy PC Stitch Version 7 or the PC Pro version. The only thing I want to be able to do is upload photos and create patterns/charts ... can anyone with experience with both versions tell me whether I really need the pro version?

I've been using 7 almost since it came out and love it. I've thought about upgrading to the Pro version but it does everything I need it to.

It depends on what you need in the end... Pro has tabbed "designing table" so you can have several designs/ versions open at one time (which is absolutely wonderful) and you can configure the layout of the working area to your liking.

You can download Pro's demo from the main site and try it before you decide which one you need/ want.

I can recommend Pro though. It's a bit more expensive, but you won't honestly regret paying a bit more for the features you get with Pro - personally I couldn't design on PCStitch because I need my sketching pad etc. open when designing.

Go For the Pro version!!! I've just updated to the version 9 this morning. (Still have to play with it though)
That way if you ever want to experiment with other things, you have it already there!
