I have been using PCStitch 5 for several years, and am wondering if I should upgrade to a newer version. Will the floss colors be more accurate with the newer versions? That is my only complaint with the old one. Black comes out as Navy, white as light blue etc. I have been dealing with this by changing it on my own but would love a more accurate depiction without having to make the changes.

I never used version 5. I started with 7 so I cannot compare the displays from one to another. However, the problem may not be the software. EVERY computer monitor is different and can be adjusted to fit the viewer in color, brightness and contrast. It's quite possible that your monitor is your problem, not the software. Try adjusting it so known colors are correct and see if it helps.
