Posted - 09/28/2016 : 21:17:50 Will this software create a pattern for needlepoint as opposed to cross stitch? I wish to do a traditional tent (continental) stitch from an imported photo.
I am new to this software and only have the demo version. I want to know if it will do what I need it to do before I purchase it.
Any help would be appreciated.

However, that's not important. Remember that the pattern is just a bunch of symbols on a grid. If you want each symbol to be a half-cross or tent stitch, then stitch it that way. Only the view will show differently.
Don't take the stitches, display or even the colors/material at face value. It's YOUR pattern and YOUR work so you can use whatever you need for your project.

Posted - 09/28/2016 : 22:15:47 From the front, the "tent stitch" is a half-cross stitch. The back being a half-cross, or continental, or basket-weave -- it's all the same from the front.
Any craft that can represent it's pattern as a grid can be done using PCStitch. It just depends on how you interpret the grid and the colors. If your craft uses other than embroidery floss, just choose the colors close to what you need and kind of cross-match them to what you really need - yarn or whatever! You just may have to totally ignore the estimates of material usage.
For your needs -- it's simple, just set the stitch to half-cross and you're there!
