Posted - 04/10/2012 : 09:02:21 I have a customer who asked me a question that I was wondering if anyone here can answer. She started a project and got half way done only to find that the fabric is too small.
Does anyone know of a way to "join" 2 pieces of fabric to make a large piece after a project has been started?
Thanks.

Posted - 10/10/2012 : 17:20:34 I've seen it done with tea-dyed and undyed fabric in the same piece. The artist stitched a piece of lace over the join, and it became part of the design. Maybe something like this will help. |

You've seen 'arty' posters printed on canvas where a large, wide image has been split into two or three separate canvases, displayed alongside each other?
Would that be possible - split the design into two (depending on the size, style, shape and how much she has done) by stitching on two pieces of fabric, and display them sided-by side as if it was a deliberate design plan? |

Posted - 06/12/2012 : 14:40:23 if it was aida maybe they could make a seam , pressed flat , and then continue to stitch onto that piece of fabric but they would have to use a mount around it so you wouldnt see the seam on the sides, evenweave might work though i have never tried it so i dont know. just make sure all the holes line up with each other and it might work. or maybe overlap the fabrics abit and stitch straight from one to the other and it might holed together, helped with a little bit of a light touch of glue stick to hold it together. but i havent tried this only mended holed this way. hope this might help. |
