I have a pattern that uses some black backstitches with 2 strands and some using only 1 strand. I tried putting black in twice in the pallet, but every time I reopened the pattern, it would put every stitch to one of the blacks. How can I have one color do both the 2 strand and 1 strand back stitch?

You can only do that using the instructions.

You can set a special color for either the one-strand or two-strand and in the instructions specify that the two are to use the same color.

You can also specify what areas are to use one strand and what areas are to use two strands.

If the color is also used for standard cross-stitch, you need to also include which number of strands for backstitch match the cross-stitch.

There is no such thing as a stupid question
