Posted - 03/24/2026 : 00:21:59 Hello Sherl, I was having the same problem. My son figured out that it was due to a recent Microsoft update. He unistalled the update and the files would open again. He reinstalled it to check, and sure enough the files would nolonger open. He unistalled the update again. It remains to be seen if the problem will reoccur with the next update. but for now I am happy to have access to my data again. Yey. I am also having my son communicate what he looked at on my computer and the solution with Mark at PC Stitch so he will know and could help others with the same problem. I hope it works for you too. :)quote: Originally posted by SherlC
hi, I just go in PCStitch and create a new pattern from scratch and once I have it like I want , I save save, and save to a folder in my windows my documents labeled pcstitch graphs. Normally I could open the graph in two ways. either by going to the folder and finding the saved graph, and clicking and it would open with pcstitch, or I would open pcstitch and click on the OPEN window, and select one of my graphs that had had previously created and saved. Currently it will let me go in PCstitch and create a new graph, and then save to my computer, but then I cannot pull it back up after that. Normally you should be able to pull up any graph you created and saved to your computer.

Posted - 03/21/2026 : 02:26:59 Did you ever find a solution to the problem? My computer is now doing the same thing. I'm so glad I finished my last project.... but now I may never be able to reprint or share that pattern I worked on for a month and a half. |

Posted - 10/10/2025 : 22:13:51 Have you tried to uninstall PCStitch, reboot, and then re-install? I would recommend using something like Revo-Uninstaller (there is a free version and a portable version -- just a zip) to remove the registry entries.
Does that work? The uninstall does not remove the patterns, especially if they are in another folder.

Posted - 09/22/2025 : 17:40:48 OK, this sounds like a silly question but I'm just trying to isolate what may be the problem.
Can you give me a detailed step by step on how you are trying to either open PCStitch with the pattern or opening PCStitch and then loading the pattern?
Include an idea of what windows folders are in use but not necessarily the exact names.
Is there anything special in the patterns, such as library motifs?

Posted - 09/22/2025 : 16:20:10 I can open PCStitch11 fine, and I can create a design and save it. but I can not pull the pattern I saved back up later. I can not get it to pull up a save PAT either within PCStitch11 or from the file, either way, but I can get completely out of PCStitch11 and it will pull up app fine and let me create, but I just cannot view the saved pattern afterwards. |

Posted - 09/22/2025 : 16:11:04 Can you open PCStitch without opening a pattern? I mean, just double-click on the PCStitch icon rather than double-clicking on the pattern you wish to load.
If you cannot load PCStitch at all, I suggest you uninstall it, reboot your computer, and then re-install the product.
