I have Windows 10 and am having issues with the Underlay feature. When I select 'Underlay' the entire programme freezes and I have no option but to close the application.

I have tried reverting back to old updates of Windows 10 to see if that is the issue but it didn't correct the problem. I have also tried opening an old pattern that has an underlay already within the pattern, but even then the application freezes when I try to use any of the underlay buttons.

I have used the underlay feature before fine and it is only within the last couple of weeks that I've had this problem.

Five years later and you're my hero for posting this solution. Thank you!

I had to use the registry editor and delete the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\M&R Technologies\PCStitch11\FormSettings

No idea what it actually means but it worked so I'll stick it here in case it helps anyone else :)

Thank you for posting. Playing the the registry is not something everybody is comfortable with but if you're very careful, it can help.

I once had to search through the entire registry to remove any record of "PCStitch" and "M&R Technologies" to solve a problem. That was years ago with, I think, PCStitch 8 Pro.

Now, everybody has an option to fix the issue for themselves.

Guess what! I figured it out. Apparently my window display was weird and it was opening "off screen"

But the Underlay feature still not working

I’m having this same issue. Haven’t heard back yet from contact us.

It’s actually gotten worse where PC stitch won’t even open anymore

Bailey

Won't open? Is that just the software or by opening a specific design?

I'll have to let Mark handle this one. I have no trouble opening PCStitch 11 but I've never used the underlay feature.

The program as well as specific designs and the backup design file. I’ve contacted Mark.

Thanks Diane, I've tried a reboot with no luck but not an uninstall/reinstall yet. I've contacted Mark and will post an update when I hear back.

For that, I suggest you use the contact us point or contact Mark about the issue. I've never used that feature so I don't know about it.

Have you tried a reboot?

Or, have you tried to uninstall/reinstall to see if that solves the issue?

I really don't know.

Good Luck,

Diane
