Posted - 04/19/2015 : 13:09:43 Although I love to do cross stitch I also like crocheting. I am going to use this software to make charts for picture afghans. I think this software is going to work wonderfully for that. In making an afghan, three or four stitches equal one inch in size. Here's my question. I have been working on a Native American design that originally started to be an afghan and it is fairly detailed and I want it to be close to the original picture. Then a dear friend of mine asked if I could make it into a wall hanging for him. I'm almost finished with the afghan chart and, holy cow, it was a lot of work, from yesterday afternoon until the wee hours and I'm still not done. With all that said, how can I reduce the size of this chart once it's finished without starting completely over? The chart is about 24 x 25 inches which equates to about 68 x 72 inches in an afghan. I would need to reduce the pattern by about 2.5 times to get it to be less than 30 inches square for the wall hanging. Is there a way to do this or do I have to start from square one? For those of you who crochet, I know I could use smaller yarn and needles but I don't think I could reduce it enough by doing that and I'm afraid it would become too delicate. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

Posted - 04/19/2015 : 15:28:33 You shouldn't have to TOUCH the pattern. Just "stitch" with smaller materials.
If you stitch it, you would be doing it on something along the line of 14 stitches/inch instead of 4. That should do your reduction nicely.
Remember that pattern itself doesn't know or care what size the stitches are, it's just one block = one stitch!
The only thing affected with the overall size is the estimate of the materials needed.
