When you start a new graph, it asks for the stitch # or inch size, then it asks for the "Horizontal Cloth Count"...can ANYONE explain to me what this means? And what I should put in that spot, or if it is something I should even worry about? Thank you!!!

LOL! yes I meant THREAD not Threat! LOL! Typo! Again, thank you for your help, you have really explained a lot to me, thus far! I really appreciate it!

I think you mean "thread".

"Floss" means "Embroidery Floss" and you designate how many strands (normally 1 - 3) with a standard skein being about 8 Meters of 6 strand.

If you use yarn (any kind from pearl cotton to bulky rug yarn), the count will be much lower and the floss usage won't be as much use.

Thank you for your help! It helps a little, I'm still new to the graphing part so the "Floss" used is also new to me, is the "floss" the size of threat, or in my case, Yarn that would be used on the project made?

The stitch count our in size is the approximate size of the finished pattern. It's not etched in stone as you can add to it during the design phase.

The horizontal cloth count (the vertical is usually grayed out because you have a square stitch) is the size of the cloth -- Most commonly for Aida, it is 14.

This is again, just for appearance sake and the estimate of the floss used. Note that the estimate is not known to be terribly accurate! It is just that, an estimate.

No matter what you say for the fabric count, you can use whatever you want -- just be aware that the estimates are even more likely to be off.

Good Luck,

Diane
