Is there any way to get all the symbols for a pattern to output as text
with each row of the pattern on its own line and spaces, commas or tabs between the symbols on each row?

Thanks!
Sheri

I figured out a work around... IF you only use letters...

Output the symbols ONLY into a .jpg file,
Run that graphic file through a OCR optical text recognition program,
then take the text and add hard returns (end of the line).
You have to check back to PC Stitch to make sure of where the end of the line actually is. Also, sometimes it messes up the character recognition, so you need to make sure all the lines are the same length.

In the end you end up with something you can import into a spreadsheet.
I'm using PC Stitch to make up quilt top designs.
There are some free ones on Craftsy.com at:

Hope the technique will help others who want to output the symbols/letters alone.

Sheri,

The answer is a simple "no". The symbols are graphical. In the file they are coded to save space but in what manner, I do not know.

You can get the list of colors and floss usage but when you export that to a file, you lose the symbols themselves.

Even if you choose a normal font, it will still be considered a graphical image.
