I finally upgraded to PCStitch10 after years with an older version and a short time without any version at all!

The first day I got it, I stumbled upon a feature that highlighted each color to show where the stitches were located in the pattern. This made it easy for me to decide which colors I could safely eliminate while adjusting my palette.

Now, just a few days later, I can't find that feature! I have looked in the toolbar options and nothing looks quite right.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and how to activate it again?

Roseannm,

That's the way to learn! Dig around and click! Worst case -- you have to exit without saving and start the session over.

Thank you so much! I'm past the point of using it on this pattern but it was driving me crazy not to be able to find it. Once you described it, that made perfect sense!

Another question, while I'm at it: the tip of the day when I opened the program just now was about turning off Flexible Backstitching to anchor the stitches to the upper left, which is what I'm accustomed to. However, I can't figure out where to turn Flexible Backstitching off. Help! <Never mind on that second question - I figured it out on my own by digging around in the pattern options.> :)

Down in the Floss Palette - right click on any color and the "Highlight Entry" option is there. Once it's turned on, click any color and that color will highlight. Right click and the option now says "Stop Highlighting" to turn off the feature.
