Posted - 12/17/2011 : 18:42:12 I created a pattern in PC Stitch 9, printed and stitched it. NOw I am ready to print the pattern for my husband's 3 daughters (Photo of their father at age 6) and the symbols have all changed. They are the same on the screen that I picked before I stitched it, but now they're different and when I bring up they preview, they're different still. HELP! I'm late getting these sent to California! |

Posted - 12/18/2011 : 17:34:28 When you reinstall, without an uninstall first (and I didn't think you needed to do that), it will over-write your first install unless you tell it to put things elsewhere. I was trying to "fix" your install, not create a second copy.
I'm glad it worked. I've heard others turn up missing the fonts and I have NO idea how it happens. I've had my share of problems with installs of this companies products but not for at least 4 years and nobody ever did figure out what was wrong there. Just be glad you didn't have to "punt" as I did (go into the registry and remove everything I could find from this series of products).
Now with all the ashes cold, press forward with your patterns!

Posted - 12/18/2011 : 16:07:04 Diane, I did as you suggested and it must have overridden my other program or something because there wasn't a second icon on my desktop even though I had OK'd it, but when I opened it, the 3 fonts were there and in my Windows fonts list also. I now have the program's instalation program saved in My Documents in case of another problem. I didn't even have to use the unlock key again. I have printed the 3 sets of patterns and can now get them in the mail tomorrow. Thanks so much! You "put out my fire." |

Posted - 12/18/2011 : 10:39:01 When you download a product, you should probably KEEP the .exe or .zip you download in case of situations like this. However, no problem. If you didn't save the download, you can do it again. Your unlock code should not be removed.
I always recommend a "Save" for any download. Just download it again, save it where you want and as soon as the download is complete, double-click on the file you downloaded to execute it.

Posted - 12/18/2011 : 10:03:18 I have checked my font list several times as sugested in another person's question who had the same problem and it is not there. How do I re-install 10. I downloaded it and don't have the disk. Yes, I paid for it and used the unlock key. |

Take a look in Windows > Fonts (in Windows Explorer). Do you see all three "PCStitch Symbols" fonts listed there? If not, I suggest you try re-installing PCStitch 10. You may have simply lost that font somehow.

Posted - 12/17/2011 : 22:57:47 I tried what you suggested, but the PCStitch Symbols 3 font is not on the list. The first floss color/symbol has been changed by the program, so it is in a different font and I can't change it to the one like the rest. Sorry to be such a pest, but it seems to be a bug in the program that needs to be fixed. I've saved my pattern every 30 minutes, but it still previews and prints with the symbols I don't want. |

Pull up the pattern that does not seem to have the right symbols. At the bottom of the window should be the "Floss Palette". Right click on ANY color there to get a menu. Move the mouse to the right when you have the option "Palette Tools" highlighted to get to the sub-menu. Then select "Change Font for All symbols". If they are all of the same font, you will see a menu so that on the left you can scroll through ALL the available fonts on your computer. Primary choices should be one of the three PCStitch fonts. Find the font that matches what you had with 9 and then select it and click "OK". Then save the pattern to lock in that font.

Posted - 12/17/2011 : 20:52:55 Diane, How do I save the font or floss/symbol list? The list I changed the symbols to in PCStitch 9 is no longer in 10. When I highlight a floss color with the symbol I had used originally, it comes up, but is not in the new list and the print/preview changes them to some other font that I don't like. My old symbols from PCStitch symbols 3 show on screen, but don't print. |

Posted - 12/17/2011 : 20:16:41 Check which font is being used. If you haven't changed it, it may be different than what you set originally. If you set the font the same and specify to change all symbols to that font, you should be OK.
