Hello eberyone,
I am relatively new to this board and to PC Stitcj Pro. I have been doing all forms of needlework for over 40 years now but this is the first time I have used a computer program and have used multi page charts. I am unsure how to work with these charts; I usually just work from 1 page. I am not sure how to piece the chart together so that it flows right. I thought this can't be THAT hard so I tried a chart with 4 pages; I started on page one and found my center. Unfortunately, when I started page 2 I thought I was matching up the grid lines correctly and when I had stitched a lot of the 2nd page I realkized that that whole part on page 2 was off by at least 2 rows!! ARGHHHHH!! Talk about frustrating! I also am having more of a hard time finding anf keeping my place while I stitch.

Hello Diane and Amber,
Thank you both for your comments! I did as you suggested Amber and taped the 4 pages together. It is a bit awkward to handle but I will get used to that. I am also going to take a highlighter or something to tell me where I have been as it very easy to lose my place.
Diane, I will try that manual backstitch and use the viewer. I'm just not sure where to put backstitch lines so they make sense. I guess it is by trial and error. I am stitching a photo of someone holding a pet bird. I think the backstitching would make sense to define the bird's feathers, beak, etc.
Anyway, I have A LOT to learn here and feel a bit overwhelmed. Getting comfortable will come in its own time.

What I do with a complicated project is to make a copy of your pcs file, and work from that. Then I can always go back to the original. |

To do "manual" backstitching, just click the backstitch tool and mark each section of stitching you want. As for where to put it - that's personal preference and my only suggestion is to make liberal use of the view function to keep looking at what you are doing to get the effect you want.

Hi Amber,
Thank you for your reply! I will try your suggestions. I have to apologize for the MANY typos I now see in my original post!
I do have another question though, This same 4 page chart is one of an imported photo and after doing a little research here on the board, I have now found out that I cannot use the auto backstitch function. I want to backstitch my finished project but how do you use this manual backstitch function and how do you know where to put the backstitches on the chart? Is it purely subjective in that I put them where I think they should go or something else?
Again, this is something that I haven't done before and just don't know how to do so it looks really great. If you, or anyone else here, can help with that, I would so much appreciate it!

Hi Pam,
I soooo understand your frustration. I make an overlap (grey area) and use it to line the chart up, then tape them together with removeable tape.
I use a highlighter to highlight the stitches already made, and start as close to the chart center as possible
