Some of the changes I would like to see in the next update are:
1.The symbols for the ¼, ½, and ¾ stitch are a little confusing. The only difference between the ¾ stitch symbol and the ¼ stitch symbol is that there is a square around the ¼ stitch symbol, therefore it is easy to get them confused. The ½ stitch symbol is harder to see if you have a different color floss as a ¼ stitch in the corner where the ½ stitch symbol is or a back stitch across the ½ stitch. Because of these problems I would like to suggest the following changes:
. a) Make the ½ stitch with two ¼ stitch symbols in opposite corners with no square around the symbols.
. b) Make the ¾ symbol like the ½ symbol with the symbol in the corner of the ¼ stitch.
2) Add a way to turn off the smart stitch, it is frustrating to delete a stitch, and it deleted other stitches.
3) In the Palette Sort window,
. a) It would be easier to sort the floss if the symbols were also there.
. b) If there was a blend, show the blended floss.
4) In a blend, make a way to change the number of strands for each floss.
5) When I select a different percentage of zoom, the screen goes to a different area of the project. How can I keep in the same area when I zoom in or out?
6) Is there a way to make the “Customize Quick Access Toolbar” work?

I hope you will consider at least some of these changes.

How about a PROTECT my design so that inadvertently hitting the keyboard doesn't make a change in design and then me accidently saving that change. or a SAFE mode to keep any change from being made UNLESS you press an icon that says "now allow changes" I don't know if it could be done, but hey, who knows!

thank you for this program. I use it a LOT!

There are two possible ways to work with your issue.

First - save the file as a PDF (use the print option and use a virtual printer). Microsoft appears to have fixed it's PDF printer problem and it doesn't seem to hang PCStitch anymore. Just use the PDF and you can't edit it.

The other option is to copy/cut the pattern into a zip file. You can still open it PCStitch but you get a warning that it is read only. If you accidentally change the file, you are warned when you exit so you can say not to save it.

How about removing the DMC colors that have been discontinued?? I find it very frustrating that they are still included and I have to manually make the substitutions.

Those are newer DMC colors and PCStitch hasn't been updated in some years. You can, if you find the color definitions of the colors, add your own palette and maybe offer it to Mark to be included in an update.

As for the backstitch. Yes, backstitching can be difficult to see printing. However, PCStitch, as far as I know, does not have the ability to print some colors and not others. Using a different (even if the same) color for backstitching might have gotten what you need if it did. However, you can create different line STYLES for backstitching which would make it stand out more. You need a somewhat larger grid for the printing in this case as some of the styles might make the actual stitch symbols harder to see. You can also print them in the actual colors of the floss which might stand out if the other stitches are just black symbols on white background for printing.

Not sure if this is buried somewhere in the responses but I would love to see the DMC Etoile colors added. Something else that would be handy - and it may exist but I just don't know its there - is a way to print a pattern with ONLY the back stitches as sometimes its very difficult to see them when printed with everything else.

I have no idea. You'd have to email Mark on that question.

When is there going to be an update?

When importing images, I'd like to see the remove similar color feature that was in PCStitch 9 Pro.
