How do borders work?

A PCStitch border basically consists of the following pieces: 4 corner patterns, top and bottom repeating patterns, and left and right repeating patterns.
You can design all the pieces of a border and then use that border in future patterns. The corners of a border are inserted as-is, and then the top, bottom, right, and left sections are repeated as needed to surround your current pattern.
The best way to understand how a border works it to open one of the sample borders that come with the software. Take a look at it in design mode, then apply that same border to a new design. In no time, you will see what a great new feature this is to PCStitch!
