I just recently purchesed the thread pack for the DMC Fluorescent colors and the only two colors in the palette list are the neon yellow and the neon green; there are six colors in the pack. I know that I can create a custom color for a pattern, but I would like to be able to save that color for future use. Is there a way to save a custom color? Hopefully Mark will add the additional 'Light Effect' colors to the list soon! (I mentioned in another post that some colors are only available in the thread packs and so they're not included in the palette lists.)

Kay Lynn,
You can use the floss editor to create your own floss colors. That way you can specify these extras and use them when ever you want. You can use it to create the "fillers" until Mark has the additional floss definitions available.

Thanks for that info Diane. Now how do I get to the floss editor? I've been trying to figure it out and I'm getting frustrated.

Kay Lynn,
To get to the Floss Editor you need to go to your Start Menu and then to PCStitch and it will be listed first in the Menu of choices. Hopefully this will get you started.

Note that the floss editor for Pro and Standard (7) are the same. If you have both, you can use either one. I found out by playing around. Imagine my surprise when I opened the floss editor for Pro and had it tell me it was version 7.

Thank you both so much for that info. I didn't realize that 'Floss Editor' was in the 'programs' file. I was racking my brains trying to figure out how the heck to pull up 'F.E.' and I did just what you said Leslie. It was great. I was able to add the DMC Fluorescents and Linens colors to my palette permantly. I am though, a little confused on the part where you change the color and then the small window opens and you put the discription and ID#. The part that I don't know too well is where you put the numbers in the next three spaces before you hit 'ok'. What are those about and how do I use them? Do you know what I'm talking about?

Hi, again everyone. Here are my 'formulas' for the floss editor for the 'Fluorescent' and 'Linen' colors not already in the palette lists. This is the closest I could get to match them. (The first number is Red, the second is Green, and the third is Blue):

Hi Kay,
Thanks! That will be a great help. I'll add them using my floss editor. Maybe Mark can use these specs to create one to be added with the next upgrades of both Standard and Pro.

Glad I could help! I just couldn't get that 'matte' look on the linen floss. I wish there was a way to do the variated and variegated. That would be a little bit of a challenge if you know what I mean! Oh, and on my lists, I wasn't planning on it being so long. Sorry about that. I don't know why, but I had them arranged so that the color lists were in the middle of the page, but they ended up next to the names. Oh well.

Most board software tend to ignore spacings you put in. You can sometimes center but usually you need something like a "table" command to actual get columns. You just have to accept what you are given and what commands you have available.
Your table was fine and easy to understand.
